This native sunflower relative has silvery, white foliage adorned with lemon yellow daisy-like flowers, heaviest in the spring. It may continue to bloom well into the summertime with some humidity and a little extra moisture. It’s an excellent choice for any native landscape with its tendencies to thrive on neglect.
Brittlebush is not a deer’s first meal choice, so it’s likely that this plant will be passed by wildlife. It grows well in native soil with good drainage, and performs wonderfully in hot areas with reflected heat; no amendments or fertilizers are necessary. Plant in areas of the garden that receive minimal care and water for maximum success.
