Orange Bulbine is a unique little succulent from South Africa that works wonders for southwestern landscapes when placed in rock or cactus gardens, near pools, in borders or tight spaces, and in planters or containers. Vibrant spikes of flowers seem to defy gravity as they hover well above the foliage on thin stems from spring through fall. Removal of these stalks after the flower is spent will prolong blooming and improve the appearance of the plant. Commonly compared to Aloe, the leaves of Bulbine have similar medicinal properties but are not spiny, and they lend a softer, more delicate quality to their surroundings.
