Civano Nursery is proud to introduce our tried-and-true new Mesquite hybrid; ‘Leslie Roy’! Named after the patriarch of the Civano Nursery family, this improved tree is a cross between the hardy Native Mesquite and the thornless Chilean Mesquite. Combining the best properties from both parents, ‘Leslie Roy’ is thornless and semi-evergreen with a very distinctive upright branching habit. In addition, this hybrid is tolerant of extreme heat and cold! Its fern-like foliage casts dappled shade that allows the growth of smaller plants beneath its canopy. Mesquites are among the best adapted trees for our region, and their picturesque form is a common sight in the desert landscape.
