Sun Drops is a delightful little groundcover that finds a comfortable home in containers, garden borders, on slopes and in perennial beds or cactus gardens across the southwest. Compared to other varieties of Calylophus, this one has darker green, narrower leaves and tends to bloom longer into the summer. Sunny-yellow flowers open in the mornings and stay open for about 24 hours, fading to orange and then pink before finishing completely. These large, paper-thin flowers perfectly compliment the delicate, dark green foliage to create a soft and fragile appearance that sharply contrasts this plant’s tough-as-nails durability. Unlike many other groundcovers, Sun Drops stays compact and stays put, it won’t become invasive or take over large areas of your garden.
