This hardy evergreen shrub is a unique form of the True Myrtle, which has been highly valued by many cultures and cultivated for centuries. Unlike other Myrtles, this variety has an irregular, contorted shape that has lots of architectural appeal. Whether grown as a shrub or a small tree, Twisted Myrtle’s silhouette and gnarled branching patterns are ideal for creating beautiful bonsai-like specimens. Also known as Desert Myrtle, it does exceptionally well in our arid desert climate, and its small white starburst flowers and glossy, dark-green foliage are both highly aromatic. Once established, Twisted Myrtle is very drought tolerant, and its maintenance requirements are remarkably low.
