As the common name suggests, Woolly Butterfly Bush is a butterfly favorite, and will have them massing around its slightly fragrant, ball-shaped clusters of flowers from March through August. This evergreen shrub is tolerant of burning sun and scorching heat, and extreme drought only intensifies the beautiful, silvery sheen of the plant’s soft, fuzzy, grey-green foliage.
Very little maintenance is required to keep the shrub’s dense, rounded form that provides striking contrast when used against darker, taller evergreens in the landscape. Woolly Butterfly Bush makes a lovely low border, informal hedge, or foundation plant, as well as a charming specimen when used near pools, patios and walkways.
